Disable Windows Media Player DRM for Imported Music

This feature allows you to disable or enable DRM for imported music in Windows Media Player.

Windows Media Player (WMP) is a standard media player and media library application developed by Microsoft that is used for playing audio, video and viewing images on computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system.

Digital rights management (DRM) is a technology that content rights holders can use to protect multimedia files from unauthorized distribution and use.

If a check mark is set, DRM for imported music in WMP is disabled. If a check mark is removed, DRM for imported music in WMP is enabled.

By default, DRM for imported music in WMP is enabled.

When you rip music from a CD, WMP can also enable DRM protection for resulting audio files. Many users consider this feature restrictive and annoying and turn it off. If you don't need DRM protection for music files imported from a CD, you can turn it off using the "Disable Windows Media Player DRM for Imported Music" setting of the Red Button program.
