Disable Bing Search in the Windows Start Menu

This tweak allows you to disable or enable Web search in the Windows Start menu.

If a check mark is set, Web search is disabled. If a check mark is removed, Web search is enabled.

By default, Web search is enabled.

When you search in the Start menu, the search box displays web results pulled from the Bing search engine, which can be slow and annoying. By disabling Web search, you can improve the performance of your local search results. Windows Search panel will display your local results faster because it doesn’t have to look for the keyword on Bing. It will also prevent your queries from being sent to the search engine, which will improve your privacy. If you want to disable Web search in the Windows Start menu, you can do it using the "Disable Bing Search in the Windows Start Menu" setting of the Red Button program.
