Disable Windows Media Player CD and DVD Media Information Retrieval
This feature allows you to disable or enable CD and DVD media information retrieval in Windows Media Player.
Windows Media Player (WMP) is a standard media player and media library application developed by Microsoft that is used for playing audio, video and viewing images on computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system.
If a check mark is set, CD and DVD media information retrieval in WMP is disabled. If a check mark is removed, CD and DVD media information retrieval in WMP is enabled.
By default, CD and DVD media information retrieval in WMP is enabled.
WMP can automatically obtain media information from the Internet for CDs and DVDs played by users. Some users prefer to stop WMP from doing this. For example, some people have limited internet and others consider it unsafe and unnecessarily resource-hogging. If you want to prevent media information for CDs and DVDs from being retrieved from the Internet, you can do it using the "Disable Windows Media Player CD and DVD Media Information Retrieval" setting of the Red Button program.
