Disable Inventory Collector

This feature allows you to disable or enable the Inventory Collector.

If a check mark is set, the Inventory Collector is disabled. If a check mark is removed, the Inventory Collector is enabled.

By default, the Inventory Collector is enabled.

The Inventory Collector inventories applications, files, devices, and drivers on the system and sends the information to Microsoft. This information is used to help diagnose compatibility problems. If you don’t want to collect data about your system send it to Microsoft, you can deactivate this function by using the “Disable Inventory Collector” setting in the Red Button program.

This setting is a Windows policy. This means that it necessarily changes the setting and thus can no longer be changed via the usual way (e.g. system settings).
